Bishop Gorman State Baseball Championships

2006 -- The Gaels won their first state title in the history of the school, which was played at the University of Nevada (Reno), going 3-0 in the tourney.

2007 -- Gorman won its second straight title, going 3-0 at College of Southern Nevada

2008 -- Gorman won its third straight title, going 3-0 in the tournament at the University of Nevada (Reno) and Western Nevada College.

  • Record: 41-3
  • Accomplishments: The Gaels won back-to-back tournaments -- the Dixie Classic and the prestigious Horizon, AZ tournament in March; won the Southwest Division Championship; won the Sunset Regional Championship; Joey Rickard scored 87 runs, which is an all-time national record. 
  • Honors: No. 2 in the nation in Baseball America, Perfect Game polls

2009 -- Gorman won its fourth straight title, going 3-0 in the tournament at College of Southern Nevada

  • Record: 40-4
  • Accomplishments: Went 16-0 in the Southwest Division; Won 35 games in a row, a state record; Gorman is now 12-0 in state tournament games over the past four years; Jeff Malm completed four years with 277 hits, tying the all-time national record. 
  • Honors: National Champions -- Baseball America, Perfect Game and Rivals.com polls.
